About the Parametric Music Box

A friend told the designer he'd only be interested in 3D printing once he could print a music box, and this was the answer. It's a fully printed, customisable music box. Its pinned cylinder and comb are generated from parameters, so you can set your own tune, and it snaps together and apart with printed clips. It won the artistic category of Thingiverse's Customizer Challenge, and many later printed music boxes, including one in this library, are forks of it.

The OpenSCAD source is kept on GitHub, and a community spreadsheet helps you get the parameters right. The videos show 'Frère Jacques' by the designer and 'Happy Birthday' by a maker.
