Wanted: designs nobody has made (yet)
We went looking for these and couldn't find a free, openly licensed design for any of them. If you can model one, the community would love it. Musicians who can test fit and playability are just as welcome as designers and builders.

Bassoon stand, rack or floor peg
There's no free design yet. The only dedicated bassoon stand we found is a paid model. The closest free part in the library is a TPU peg-cup adapter for the K&M 150/1 stand.

Bocal case
Something slim and protective to carry two or three bocals safely. We haven't found a free bocal case or bocal holder anywhere.

Bassoon forming mandrel
A free mandrel for forming bassoon reed tubes. Oboe and English horn mini-mandrels exist, but there isn't one for bassoon yet.

Bassoon tip profiler
Nothing free yet for profiling bassoon reed tips. There's also no bassoon plaque; the only free plaque is for oboe.

Fox-2-style bassoon shaper
The library has a flat shaper modelled on a Fox #2. A free, fuller shaper with the proper curved shaper form, plus Rieger, Jensen or Herzberg styles, would be very welcome. The ones we found are paid.

Modern keyed German-system bassoon
The library has a printable rackett, but nothing yet for a modern Heckel-system bassoon with full keywork.

Keyed clarinet, saxophone and oboe
The printable clarinets in the library have few keys or none. A fully keyed modern clarinet, sax or oboe is still missing.
- Strings
Viola
Violins (Hovalin) and cellos (O'Cello) can be printed, but there's no free viola yet. Viola practice mutes already exist.

Handpan
There's no free, playable printable handpan or hang drum yet.

Steel tongue drum
The library has a stand for one, but the only printable tongue drum we found is on MakerWorld under its own (non-Creative Commons) licence. A free, openly licensed one is still missing.

Waterphone
No free printable waterphone (or a printed body for one) turned up in our search.

- Bassoon seat-strap hooks, harness parts, and hand rests other than crutches.
- A stand-mounted valve-oil holder.
How to contribute
- Publish your design or plans on Printables, Thingiverse, MakerWorld, Instructables or your own site, under an open licence. CC BY or CC BY-SA lets other people sell what they make and remix it; CC0 puts it in the public domain.
- Add print settings or a materials list, and a photo of a finished build, and note which instruments you tested it on.
- Tell us about it with the Add your item form below and we'll add it to the library.
