About the Guitar Neck Rest

A neck rest holds an instrument's neck steady while it lies on a bench, which makes restringing, cleaning frets and adjusting the setup easier. Bukken's design has a curved cradle that hugs the back of the neck and offers two heights for different instruments.

The designer recommends 15% infill, 4 walls and 4 solid top and bottom layers, in PLA or ABS. The file is already oriented so it prints without supports. He glued scrap leather to it with spray adhesive (mask off the parts you don't want glue on), and says cork sheet works too.

With 38 makes, it's the most-made luthier print the research turned up. A STEP file is included if you want to adjust it.

Who it's for. Anyone who restrings or sets up their own instruments. We haven't printed one ourselves; this summarises the designer's notes.
