About the Collapsible flute stand
A peg stand lets you stand a flute upright on its foot joint between pieces. This one collapses: three legs fold up into the shaft, which screws onto a base, so it packs small. It was made to replace a sister's broken metal stand. The designer admits to knowing nothing about flutes, so check that the 17 mm shaft fits your flute or piccolo before printing.
This 'rounded leg' version has a slight wobble because the legs are a little thin. An update fixes that: either print the legs lying flat for strength, or use the new hollow legs with a 3 mm × 190 mm metal rod inside each. The designer recommends the rods. Line the shaft with thin felt so it can't scratch the inside of the instrument.
Who it's for. Flautists who want a light travel stand. Use at your own risk. Pairs with the printed transverse flute.
