About the Irish Piccolo
A piccolo version of the Axianov Irish Flute, which is already in the library. Marat Axianoff first gave it away as a free promotion when the flute came out. Thanks to work by Roman and Anna Bryusova, the original files are now free to download, and neale uploaded them to Printables. Credit for the design belongs to Axianoff, who takes donations through a link on that page.
Print every part in the orientation of the STL files and keep the seams away from the tone holes (the uploader found rear seam alignment worked). PLA at 100% infill comes closest to the density of wood. The uploader has one printed at 50% that works fine, but more infill should in theory resonate better and feel nicer to hold. Use supports on the build plate for the tone holes in the main body, and put a brim round the head.
Wind the joints with 0.55 mm waxed thread, adding extra bits of thread for a secure fit. The linked video (in Russian) is a review of Axianov's printed flutes; skip to about 10:00 to see and hear the piccolo. Five makes are posted on Printables.
