About the Series 56 sax mouthpieces
Windy City Woodwinds was a saxophone mouthpiece maker. When it closed in June 2024, it released its designs to the public and asked for them to be shared widely. This Printables upload brings together all the sizes and tip openings of the Series 56, for soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax. The design credit belongs to Windy City Woodwinds. The company described the Series 56 as drawing on the 1950s West Coast 'cool school' jazz sound. The Series 64 and Series 72 are uploaded separately.
Print in PLA standing upright, at 100% infill, with a brim if needed. Then sand the table, the flat where the reed sits, carefully with 400 to 800+ grit so the reed seals. The video is an independent review of the alto version. Windy City Woodwinds asked anyone who likes the designs to donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
