About the Whodo Udu

An udu is a clay pot drum from Nigeria. Its side hole gives bright taps and slaps and a surprisingly deep bass 'boom' as you open and close it with your hand. The designer, Wacky Ware, made the Whodo Drum so you can print one in PLA instead of firing clay.

It prints without supports at 0.2 mm layers and a fairly hot 215–225 °C nozzle, with 100% concentric infill for a solid, resonant shell. The designer gives no other build notes and there's no sound demo yet, so it's a newer, less-tested design than the other drums here. It's also on Thingiverse as "PLAy without clay!" under a stricter no-derivatives licence; we link the Printables version.
