About the SAM 230 cornetto

The cornetto (cornett or Zink) is a Renaissance lip-buzzed instrument with finger holes. This model reproduces SAM 230, a soprano cornetto made by the Bassano family in the 16th or 17th century, using the measurements published in Die Zinken und der Serpent by Beatrix Darmstädter (Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna).

The designer split the instrument into three sections so it fits common printers, and drew the joints as octagons so the parts line up and can be epoxied into one piece. A separate mouthpiece is included. For the mouthpiece the designer coats the print with a medical-grade epoxy to make it safer to put to your lips; a PDF of reference pages is also attached. FreeCAD source files are included if you want to adjust anything.
