About the oboe reed mini-mandrel

Many reed makers find their hand tires from gripping a small reed while scraping it. These mini-mandrels slip into the reed and give you something larger to hold.

There are three sizes each for oboe and English horn reeds, and the English horn ones also suit oboe d'amore and baroque oboe reeds. No special settings are needed. To fine-tune how tightly it grips your reed, scale the model up or down by 2–3% in your slicer. The files are STEP, so you can also edit them in CAD.
