About the Hovalin chin rest

A remix of the Hovalin chin rest, redesigned with a flat base so it prints without supports. The designer recommends flexible TPU for three reasons: the flat base conforms better to the violin, it's softer on the chin, and it damps the violin's vibration less than hard plastic. At 5% infill the TPU stays pleasantly squashy.

TPU tends to string. Adjust retraction, Z-lift and temperature. Counter-intuitively, a slightly hotter nozzle can reduce stringing, because the filament flows more like a liquid than a stretchy solid.
