About the Cajon mic holder

Miking a cajon from the sound hole at the back picks up its deep bass. This holder claws into the hole and holds a microphone in place, and a threaded ring stiffens the long arms. Stick felt gliders on the claws to decouple the mic from the drum's body.

Version 3 lengthens the threaded section, adds a guide for the ring and a feature to stop it working loose, and includes a built-in support element that snaps off after printing, so no slicer supports are needed. The 120 mm version was tested on a real cajon. Other diameters (112, 115, 135 and 150 mm, and more added during 2026) are modelled but untested. The ring is the same for every size. Measure your sound hole first.
